About Galco
July 1, 2008 – 8:03 pmOur company, Galco, was founded by Richard Gallagher in the year 1969 in a small town in Chicago, it was founded back then as a very small business and we had no clue it would grow to the magnitude it has and we'd sell as many galco holsters as we have in the past year. It was known as the Original Jackass Leather Company, Gallagher was very honed in his skill with building galco holsters constructed of only horse or cowhide.
In 80 the company name was changed to Galco International, and in 83 the business, then in Chicago, moved to its present and permanent home in Phoenix. Already made famous via the high quality and very innovative designs, Our galco holsters became known worldwide when the Jackass shoulder system became a very popular item on the 80's tv series Miami Vice. Galco International continues to be a favorite choice of most hollywood actors, appeared in more tv and films than any other holster maker around the world. This is what makes galco holsters so special.
Whats even more important is galco also remains a major force in the real life usage of fire arms around the world. LE around the world and nation, from state to local to federal, are issued only galco holsters and products. Galco's wide variety of law enforcement products is varitized from concealment holsters, to rifle slings that are approved by the national tactical officers association.
